The first chapters are on the Bharat Rakshak website
November 13, 2006 at 4:04 am | In Uncategorized |Thanks to Jagan, the first few chapters of (an unknown number) on the Canberra in the IAF are now up on the Bharat Rakshak IAF website.
Bharat Rakshak abbreviated BR is an attempt to capture the history of the IAF, its’ men, machines and moments. A lot of people have contributed to the site but the chief maintainer today is of course Jagan Pillariseti.
The articles are here

Anyone who has any interest in the IAF Canberras is invited to join our community and leave comments on the blog.
I am especially interested in photographs and anecdotes by pilots, navigators, groundcrew or anyone associated with the Canberra in the IAF.
Please leave a comment with a “contact me” message and your e-mail will be transmitted to me (when you enter it for the comment) but will not be visible to the rest of the world if you so desire.
Please feel free to add your experiences by either e-mailing them to me or commenting on the site.
I have already established contact with a few people whose relatives flew Canberras - these include well know names within the Canberra community.
Last but not least, please feel free to comment on the articles.
Thanks
Anandeep Pannu

Great information, I have worked for a number of years on the RAF PR verions, being a air photographer, looking after the processing and printing of the recce imagery.
I have just completed the last ever deploymeny of the RAF PR9.
I’m looking at adding a IAF Canberra PR page to my site very soon.

I flew Canberras while serving in IAF in No. 35 Sqn. based at Poona from 1960 to 1965. I could not attend the IAF 50 years of the Canberra celebration nor the Get-together arranged by Walter Marshall. I live in retirement in San Francisco and often surf BR for updates. It is wonderful that both of you have done so much research and have put out such a feast of useful information. I shall follow the progress of this project with great interest. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Best Wishes,
Anindyo Chatterjee, Sqn. Ldr. (Retd.)

Great idea Anandeep. The Canberra is one of my all time favorite IAF aircraft. Its interesting because it has participated in a lot of war fighting for IAF starting from Goa and Congo … till Kargil. Tracing its history should unearth history of the IAF at large.
I have written a piece on the famous Badin raid, do check it out:
